Editorial policy
This page sets out how articles on Dental Implant Turkey are written, checked and updated.
Who writes our articles
Articles are published under the name of the Dental Implant Turkey editorial team. First drafts are partly produced with AI writing tools. An editor then checks the draft, removes anything that cannot be supported by a source, adds references and adapts the text for readers in the UK (British spelling, NHS and UK regulatory context).
Sources we rely on
- UK health bodies and regulators: NHS, NHS England, the General Dental Council (GDC), NICE, the Care Quality Commission and gov.uk (including FCDO travel advice).
- Professional and charitable organisations such as the British Dental Association and the Oral Health Foundation.
- Peer-reviewed research, preferably systematic reviews (for example Cochrane reviews or articles indexed in PubMed).
- For information about treatment in Turkey: Turkish public bodies and professional associations where available.
We link to sources so you can check them. General encyclopaedias are not used as the only source for clinical claims.
Our rules on prices and claims
- No prices or price ranges unless we can name the source and the date it was checked. Where we cannot, we explain what affects the cost instead.
- No percentage “savings”, discounts or “cheapest” claims.
- No promises about results, and no words such as “best”, “guaranteed”, “painless” or “world-class”.
- Risks, side effects and alternatives are covered alongside benefits.
- No patient testimonials, reviews or before-and-after photos.
These rules follow the spirit of the UK Advertising Codes (CAP Code) on health claims and the General Dental Council’s guidance on advertising.
Clinical review by a dentist
We are introducing clinical review by Uzm. Dt. Oğuzhan Sunar. A review means the dentist reads the article, checks the clinical statements against current practice and asks for corrections; the editor makes the changes and the review date is recorded. Only then does an article show “Clinically reviewed by” with a date. Articles that have not been through this step say so openly. Our reviewer works at our partner clinic; see how this site is funded.
Updates
We revisit articles when guidance, NHS charges or regulations change, or when a reader reports a problem. The “Updated” date is changed only when the content of an article changes, not for technical edits.
